What does it cost to participate in a Chasing Wonder Workshop?
It depends if it’s a stand-alone or a series. For a stand-alone, two-hour generative writing circle, the registration fee is $40 CAD (~30 USD). For a 6-week series, the fee is $225 CAD (~160 USD), though I typically offer an early-bird registration discount. This is in line with many other Amherst Writing & Artist (AWA) affiliates and covers hosting/website fees, Zoom costs, Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) affiliate fees, prompt preparation, and time.

How do I pay?
Once you complete the above form, I’ll email you PayPal (US/International) or EMT (Canada) details. Registration is confirmed when payment is received.
What exactly is a Chasing Wonder Workshop?

How large is a Chasing Wonder Workshop?
The maximum size is 10 participants, but most are typically smaller (lately I’ve been capping a 8 participants).
How is this different than writing on my own?
First, you’re pretty much guaranteed to write. Second, you’re in a community and there’s a timer. I’ve participated in AWA circles for years; there is truly something magical that happens with the quality of writing when we write with others.
Do I have to put on my Zoom camera?
Because there is trust involved in writing with others, it is best if your Zoom camera is on when we greet each other at the beginning and share our writing at the end. After each prompt is given, you’re welcome to turn off your camera.
What if I have nothing to write about the prompt(s) given?
The prompts are very open, so this is rarely a problem. But “going rogue” on the prompt is also encouraged, as is continuing on an already-started piece of writing.
What if I am brand new to writing?

What if I have other questions?
You have a few choices. You can jump in and register, trusting that your questions will be answered; you can fill in the registration form, which has space to ask me questions; or, you can use the email on the “contact” page.
