Contests, Submissions, and Winners, Oh My

THE CONTEST

Last week, I celebrated my 200th post and offered to give away some swag. If you haven’t read the comments on “What’s in a Name?”, I encourage you to do so. My readers are hilarious. Just skip what I wrote. Seriously, the comments are where it’s at.

THE WINNERS

I was originally going to ask my Grade 8 students to generate five random numbers between 1-142, but sixteen years of teaching teens told me that this could be a classroom management fiasco. So I used Random Number Generator.

Here are the winners:

Prize 1, Spark Story Starters, a set of the most amazing kids cards, goes to Comment #44, Chase McFadden of Some Species Eat Their Young.

Prize 2, Froggy in My Throaty fun book/CD goes to Comment #27: Kristen Herdy at Messiah Mom.

Prize 3, Mango Wood Vase from Thailand goes to Comment #115: Deborah Bryan at The Monster in Your Closet.

Prize 4, Miniature Handmade Cards from Thailand go to Comment #119 Annie from Six Ring Circus.

Prize 5, a Guest Post on my site or on her site goes to Comment #105: Renée Schuls-Jacobson from Lessons from Teachers and Twits.

If you won, please email your mailing address to ironicmom (at) gmail (dot) com.

CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS

Stuff Kids Write

Like stuff adults write. But funnier.

With the end of school, many kids are bringing home their journals. If you see anything funny, please send it to StuffKidsWrite (at) gmail (dot) com. Chase McFadden and I would love to look at it to see if we could include it on the website. Check out StuffKidsWrite.com for more information.

I Survived the Mean Girls

Kelly at Dances With Chaos has started a new blog, called I Survived the Mean Girls. If you have a story of that you want to share about struggling through the teen years, check out the blog or email Kelly at danceswithchaos (at) gmail (d0t) com.
