A Macabre Christmas Tale

Vivian, my beloved Thing 2, composed a story this morning. It’s safe to say she’s picked up her dad’s sense of what’s funny. She is very proud of the surprise ending. In case you’re tired of twelve days of warm fuzzies, here you go.

It starts out innocently enough...

Jessica and the Talking Christmas Orange

Jessica went on a walk in the woods. She saw a talking orange.

Jessica said, “Aaaaa!! A talking orange!”

The orange said back to her, “Why don’t we be friends?”

Jessica was less scared now. She came closer and closer.

“Ok, we can be friends,” said Jessica.

But she was really joking. Quickly Jessica peeled the Christmas orange and ate him.

The end.

Not sure what Freud would have to say about the ending…

From our crazy household to yours, Merry Christmas.

What’s it say about me and my daughter when we laughed menacingly about it?

    Moral: Don’t befriend a Thing.

And good job of pinning that on your husband’s sense of humor. You’d be so above that.

    Merry Christmas!

I too approve of your child. And I have a feeling you snorted and cackled as the dramatic story reading came to a close. A good Christmas cackle perhaps?

Our children would be fast friends given this story. 🙂

You gotta love kids with senses of humour, demented or otherwise!
