The Story of My Weekend in Tweets

Twitter is the only diary I’ve kept longer than two days. Somehow the limit of 140 characters appeals to my distractedness, even invites it.

So, here we go…

Saturday Morning:

Saturday Afternoon:

Sunday, Early Afternoon:

Sunday, Mid Afternoon:

Sunday, Moments Later:

Sunday, Later:

You may be wondering what’s in these updates for you. Well, let me tell you. Here are five parenting tips I’m leaving you with, courtesy of my weekend:

  1. Twitter is an excellent way to keep track of your parenting inadequacies.
  2. Kids who can read are kind of a pain in the #$%^.
  3. Bribery is an excellent strategy for making your kids do what you want.
  4. Shovels are weapons.
  5. Mandarin oranges are craft worthy.

In 140 characters or less (or even more), how was your weekend? Any take-home lessons from those events?

Awesome! Hey, I have my entire mantle lined with mandarin-orange pumpkins. They are the cutest things ever!

Syphilis. Only one ‘L’. I know the word well. Professionally I mean.

Ha. Those double consonants always kill me. Better that than the disease, I suppose.

When your daughter says, ” Hey mom, come here, I want to show you something” I need to make sure I have a full stomach first. Or empty. I can’t decide. Scratch that…just ask what it is first and if she won’t tell you, ask her to take a picture (a pile of ear wax crayons are not nearly as gooey in photo as in real life).

Did that babysitter lop off fingertips for misbehavior? If so, can I get her number?

Love Pinterest for ideas! I don’t go on it very often since it sucks me into its vortex and I never know when I’ll be spat out!

I have a love-hate relationship with Pinterest. We’re working on it.

Personally, I find the adding/subtracting by one more challenging than solving a quadratic equation.

Love the tips! #4 could be revised in my house of boys to “EVERYTHING is a potential weapon.”

My weekend in 140 characters or less?

When family says I get a writing weekend, they mean 5 hours wedged b/t shoving them out the door & doing their laundry when they return. :/

Oh. That sucks. A day is never a day, is it? Maybe your pen should become your weapon. 😉

    “Mandarin oranges are craft worthy.”

Love that. What if you don’t have oranges? Or anything with a thick skin? What would you recommend? Because that’s where I am right now. 😉
