Funny Captions from My Life as a Parent

The best thing about having an iPhone is that I get to take bizarre pictures with great frequency. Here are a few from the past week, with captions.

MATH:

7yo girl does word-math on driveway; twin brother unimpressed

ART:

Canadian twins perpetuate stereotypes by building inukshuk quintuplets out of blocks

PSYCHOLOGY:

Mom purchases parenting book at thrift store to counter 7yo daughter's new business venture

SCIENCE:

7yo boy destroys kinetic energy in mom's office

Tell me some recent captions or headlines from your house…

Would you like readers to send you crazy ironic things we see? I saw a woman with enormous boobs standing next to a sign that read: “Big cans.” I just couldn’t figure out how to take the picture discreetly. 🙂

Me too. But the image in my brain may never leave!

And I’d love you to send me irony. Not ironing.

Big cans! LOL! My daughter has always wanted one of those kinetic energy games. I keep telling her “that would be fun for about five minutes.” Now I know how fragile they really are. That will be my new excuse for not getting one.

You know, they’re more resilient than you think. I have mine on my middle school teaching desk usually, and it’s used all the time. Nothing like an English teacher explaining physics to 14 year olds.

It’s amazing what’s out there. I have a whole series of photos I took at the Dollar Store this week (all double entendre)…I might run them next week.

Bwahaha. That could be us. I found Vivian sitting on our front step tonight in short sleeves (it was snowing). “What are you doing out here?” I asked. She said, “No one loves me.”

Nothing really great comes to mind. I have 2 girls and a boy – the boy is the youngest. He rebels against the Barbie and Horse fanaticism by insisting they let him play with his Luke Skywalker or Hans Solo action figures – and then shoots everything until they blow up. War ensues 🙂

I was in Big Lots yesterday and saw a sign saying “Crabs Gather Here.” I tweeted it along with “I bet Paris Hilton has one of these in her bedroom.”
